This is how the Quran has described mountains. Allah has said in the Quran: have we not made the earth as a bed and the mountains as pegs? [Quran78:6-7]. Modern earth sciences have validated that mountains have deep roots underneath the surface of the ground and that these roots can attain numerous times their elevation above the floor of the ground. So the most appropriate phrase to describe Mountains the basis of this data is the phrase “Peg” seeing that most of an accurate set Peg is hidden below the surface of the ground. The history of science tells us that the theory of mountains having deep roots used to be introduced solely in the latter half of the nineteenth century.
Mountains also play an important role in balancing the crust of the earth. They obstruct the shaking of the earth. Allah has said in the Quran: “and he has set firm mountains in the earth so that it would not shake with you”…. [Quran, 16:15]. Likewise, the cutting-edge concept of the plate tectonics holds that mountains work as stabilizing for the earth. This know-how about the function of mountains as stabilizing of the earth has simply begun to be understood in the framework of the plate tectonics due to the fact that the late 1690’s.
Could anyone during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) have known of the true shape of mountains? Could anyone imagine that the solid massive mountain which he sees before him actually extends deep into the earth and has a root, as scientists assert? A large number of books of geology, when discussing mountains, only describe that part which is above the surface of the earth. This is because these books were not written by specialists in geology. However, modern geology has confirmed the earth of the Quranic verses.
One powerful signal that points to the astounding nature of the Quran and that the words of the Quran should not have been formulated by way of Muhammad (peace be upon him) of Arabia is the following verse in the Holy Qur’an, which describes in detail stunning and outstanding wonders found in nature. It speaks of colorful mountains of red and white and different colorations of these colors, and mountains of ebony black.
Looking around the place Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) lived his complete life, anywhere he looked, all he could see was once a barren desert, sand dunes, brown hills, some shrubs, and palm trees. When fortunate, he and his companions may want to come across a blue, fresh oasis of water. But they had never considered or even imagined rainbow colored mountains, yet it was spoken by means of the Prophet (peace be upon him) as he recited the Qur’an. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not make these beautiful photos up, they were printed to him via God, so he ought to tell the humans of the staggering introduction of God.
