Allah (SWT) has revealed verses in the Quran that are so powerful that we would be protected from the devil, Allah (SWT) has revealed a verse, it is verse number 255 of Surat Al-baqarah, that is known as Ayatul kursi, it mentions the greatness of Allah, the fact that he is in absolute control, he is the protector, he is the one who protects every single one, he has knowledge of absolutely everything, so this verse, we are taught that if we  were to repeat it, we would be protected from shaytan, there is a narration making mention of Abu Hurairah (RA) wherein he had actually caught the devil on one occasion an what happened is… the devil taught him something, the third time that this happened which means when he caught the devil the third time, the devil says, I will teach you something that will protect you from myself and my progeny, all the rest of the shayateen and so he taught him Ayatul kursi, eventually Abu Hurairah released him, he then went to Muhammad (PBUH), telling him what had happened and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) replied, “HE HAS TOLD YOU THE TRUTH ON THIS OCCASION BUT REMEMBER HE’S A LIAR”.

Why Ayatal kursi is so important? What is so blessed about Ayatul Kursi? Of them is the Hadith Abdullah-bin-ubayy that once the Prophet (PBUH) went to him and ask oh Ubay “which Ayah in the Quran is the most blessed Ayah”? It is the greatest Ayah, so Abdullah-bin-ubayy, did not respond out of modesty so he said, Allah and his Messenger know the best, the Prophet (PBUH) insisted him and ask again what is the greatest Ayah in the Quran, so he saidاللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاو ;َاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

When Abdullah-bin-ubayy said this, the Prophet (PBUH), he pushed him gently and said, knowledge will always be happy around you may you be congratulated for your knowledge. So it shows us that the Prophet (PBUH) agreed with ubayy that indeed the greatest Ayah in the entire Quran is Ayatul kursi. Ayatul Kursi is to be recited in the morning and the evening, and in one other hadith reported in mostly Iman Ahmad, that is also authentic, our Prophet (PBUH) said, whoever recited Ayatul Kursi, after every single Fardh Salaah and if this habit and a routine, what did our Prophet (PBUH) say? Nothing will prevent a person from entering in Jannah except his own death meaning you are a person of Jannah if you recite Ayatul Kursi after every of the 5 daily prayers.
Now why? What is so special about this Ayatul Kursi, it is but one Ayah, it is 1/3 of a page, and there are so many other verses of the Quran, the Quran has over 6000 something verses, why does this verse stand out so much, the response is very simple, it is because the verse deals with Allah (SWT) and his names and attributes, and always the most majestic verses and the most blessed verses in the Quran are the verses that talk about Allah (SWT), why? Because nothing is more grandiose to discuss, more majestic to discuss, more beautiful to discuss than Allah (SWT), there is no topic that is more worthy of being talked about and praise, other than Allah (SWT). So the best verses in the Quran are those verses that praise Allah. Allah say اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ this is as we know the primary name of Allah (SWT) there is no name in the Quran that is more common than this name and that is Allah (SWT).

It is the name that occurs over 3500 times, it is a name that Allah has mentioned and revealed in all of the books. Therefore Allah affirms this by saying اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ there is no deity worthy of worship other than Allah and if you look around mankind always submits to being other Allah, except for the true Muslim, some people submit to false gods, others submit to their desires, other submit to materialism and money and they worship money. He is الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ the one who has perfect life because not only does he have life, he has perfect life and he gives life and then once we are alive, we need food, we need water, we need rest, we need sleep, and every life followed by death except for الْحَيّ. He does not need anything, الْقَيُّومmeans the one who gives others all that they need.
