My dear brothers in Islam be just like Ali ibn Abu Talib (ra). Yes, be like Ali.... During His time Ali (ra) lost His shield in one of the battlefields and Jewish man managed to grab hold of it and then one day Ali (ra) is in the market, He saw his shield on a table or a store to be sold by Jewish men so He said: ''This is my shield and I lost it on the battlefield'' The Jewish man said: ''it's my shield and it's in my hand'' Ali (ra) was the Khalifah back then, Ali (ra) doesn't need anyone! All Ali (ra) says is I'll take it & the Jewish man does not even dare to say a word would but Ali (ra) said: ''This is my shield and I lost it on the battlefield'' so the Jewish man said: ''but it's my shield and I've got my hands on it'' so Ali (ra) did not want to abuse His power. He did not want to abuse his authority so they went to Qadi Shurayh. Qadi Shurayh is one of the most famous judge

Question: How sound(true) is the hadeeth, “Blessed is (Greater) Syria, for the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over it”?. All praise be to Allaah. Answer: Yes the hadith is very sound and true. It is one of the saheeh hadith that speak about the virtue of greater Syria(Bilaad al-Shaam). It was narrated by the great Sahaabi Zayd ibn Thaabit (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), collecting the Qur’aan from pieces of vellum, and the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Blessed is (Greater) Syria.” We said: Why is that, O Messenger of Allah? He said: “Because the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over it.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (no. 3954); he said: Hasan ghareeb. Also narrated by Imam Ahmad in al-Musnad (35/483, Mu’sasat al-Risaalah edn.), classed as saheeh by the commentators and by Shaykh al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (no.

Praise be to Allaah. There is no saheeh evidence to indicate that. Shaykh Sa’d al-Humayd Rather it is proven in the saheeh hadeeth that the gathering will be in al-Shaam (Greater Syria, including Palestine). It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Al-Shaam is the land of the gathering and the resurrection.” (Narrated by Ahmad). i.e. it is the place where people will be gathered on the day of judgement for the reckoning. They will be resurrected from their graves and then they will be driven to that land. It has been singled out for this because it is the land of which Allaah said (interpretation of the meaning): ‘the land which We have blessed for the ‘Aalameen (mankind and jinn)’ [al-Anbiya’ 21:71]. Most of the Prophets were sent from that land and their laws spread throughout the world, so it is appropriate that it should be the land of the gathering and the resurrection.” (Fayd a

All praise be to Allah. Firstly: It is haram to listen to music. It is also invalid to draw analogy between music and the sounds of birdsongs or sounds of nature. Secondly: Many believe that Dawood(Alai hi salaam) used to play flute to seek forgiveness of Allah. It must be noted that this statement has no basis in Islam. In an authentic hadith, it is mentioned that Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) said to Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari, “You have been given a beautiful voice (mizmaar, lit. flute) like the beautiful voices of the family of Dawood” (narrated by al-Bukhaari (5048) and Muslim (793)) What is meant by these words is that he had a beautiful voice and it was likened to the sound of the flute. Hence what is meant by flute here is not actual flute but the beautiful voice. The original meaning of the word zamr is singing, and phrase “the family of Dawood” refers to Dawood himself. The phrase “the family of So and so” may apply to the person himself. Dawood (peace and bl

When Umar ibn khattab (ra) was passing away, a man came into the gathering of Umar ibn khattab and he started praising Umar (ra) and he said Oh leaders of believers you were great, you did this and you did that and Umar (ra) said: tell me, will you be a testimony to this on the day of judgment? and then Abdullah ibn Abbas (ra) came and Umar (ra) was crying and Umar (ra) was saying, by Allah I could leave this Dunya, that nothing is against me and nothing is for me, I would be happy. Umar ibn Khattab (ra) is saying, if I left this Dunya, nothing for me and nothing against me, I would be happy. Abdullah ibn Abbas (ra) entered the room and Umar (ra) was crying and Abdullah ibn Abbas (ra) ''Oh leader of believers, the Prophet (salaallah alayhi wasalam) left this dunya and He was happy with you, no two Muslim differed regarding your Caliphate, everybody was happy with your Caliphate and Umar (ra) said: I know that but it is this matter which concerns me, this Caliphate and then

They tell you that you're oppressed that you follow a religion that hasn't progressed and that cloth you wear in your head is just the symbol of being suppressed but in reality it's just a shame that we live in a world where we are so obsessed with our exterior that we've completely forgotten what truly makes us blessed so if you're surrounded by those who think freedom is about getting undressed then let me suggest that the so-called liberation, they call you to is nothing more than the loss of your self-confidence and respect. When one in four girls by the time they're 14 are depressed and when suicides become the number one killer of youth, it may be time to reassess the twisted standards of this society like copying what you see on social media so the world is impressed and I know I can't relate to your struggle but there's something I want to get off my chest, you see this disease are feeling worthless because you don't look picture-perfec

Ruling on Removing Body Hair(for Women).

Praise be to Allaah. Ruling for something is based on shariah. The hair on the body is something that is not talked about in it. If sharia doesnt say anything about it then is allowable for a woman to remove them. The hair on arms and legs does not come under the same heading as the hair that is commanded or recomended to remove i.e. pubic hair. And it does not come under the heading that are comanded or forbidden to remove i.e. hair of eyebrows and on head. Because shariah says nothing about it the s holars differ on opinion concerning it. While some say it is not permissible as it changes the creation of Allah. Allaah tells us that the Shaytaan said: “ ‘and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allaah’” [al-Nisa’ 4:119 – interpretation of the meaning] Others say it is permissible to remove them because it is one of the things concerning which sharee’ah did not say anything, so the ruling is that it is permissible, since whatever sharee’ah did not sa

The Hairdresser and Pharaoh - a Story of Trust in God

Praise be to Allaah. The story of the hairdresser of the daughter of Pharaoh is narrated as follows: It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “On the night on which I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra’), a beautiful fragrance came to me. I said: O Jibreel, what is this beautiful fragrance? He said: This is the fragrance of the hairdresser of Pharaoh’s daughter and her children. I said: What is their story? He said: Whilst she was combing the hair of Pharaoh’s daughter one day, the iron comb fell from her hand and she said, ‘Bismillaah (in the name of Allaah).’ The daughter of Pharaoh said: ‘My father?’ She said: ‘No. My Lord and the Lord of your father is Allaah.’ She said: ‘I will tell him about that.’ She said: ‘Yes.’ So she told him and he summoned her and said: ‘O So and so, do you have a Lord other than me?’ She said: ‘Yes, my Lord and your Lord is Allaah.’ He or

Praise be to Allah. The ways in which you can give up watching movies: you can achieve that by means of several things that were mentioned by the scholars and educators, such as the following: 1) Bearing in mind that Allah, may He be exalted, is always watching and that He knows what is secret and is even more hidden. One of the early generation was asked about what they did that help them to lower their gaze and refrain from looking at haraam things. He said: By knowing that Allah sees you more quickly than you see what you are looking at. 2). Righteous friends who will remind you if you forget and alert you if you are heedless. They are close friends who love one another for the sake of Allah and you are brought together in obedience to Allah, may He be exalted. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Friends on that Day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah)” [al-Zukhruf 43:67]. That is the good companion whom the Prophet (blessings and

All praise be to Allah. In the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) use and encouragement of the use of kohl(surma) is mentioned. In a number of hadeeths it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used kohl and commanded others to do so. It is narrated in the Musannaf of Ibn Abi Shaybah, from the hadeeth of Anas, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to apply kohl to his right eye three times, and to his left eye twice. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah no. 633. And it was proven in Sunan al-Nasaa’i (5113) and Sunan Abi Dawood (3837) and elsewhere, from the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best of your kohl is ithmid(antimony), for it makes the vision clear and makes the hair grow.” Kohl protects the health of the eyes and gives the vision the strength and cl

These Eyes Will Not See Hell

Abdullah Ibn Shaqeeq (may Allah be pleased with him) said that I went to a room when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was praying and I heard to his chest.. a noise similar to the noise when you have a pot on fire and it's boiling. He is crying, He is weeping and why would you do such a thing? because when you remember Allah. When you remember the greatness of Allah. When you remember that Allah has created all this universe which does not mean anything at the greatness of Allah and it is nothing compared to the greatness of Allah and I, as an individual I am nothing at all compared to this huge universe let alone compared to the greatest of Allah. When you pray in the middle of the night and you recollect or that is recall your sins, your shortcomings, the things they've done to others, the things that you have done to Allah Almighty and you feel how small and humiliated.. you are standing in front of Allah, you're praying and asking for forgiven

All Praise be to Allaah. Use of siwak is part of sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) and its use is encouraged in many hadith. Its effect is described as purifying the mouth, cleansing it of dirt, making it smell good and also prevents various diseases. Siwak is a general word which affirms its powers of purification and protection. It is indeed a miracle of Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said: it was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Siwaak is purifying for the mouth and pleasing to the Lord.” Narrated by al-Nasaa’i (hadeeth no. 5). Al-Bukhaari narrated it as a mu’allaq majzoom report in Kitaab al-Sawm,Bab Siwaak al-Ratab wa’l-Yaabis li’l-Saa’im. It was classed as saheeh by al-Mundhiri in al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1/133) and classed as hasan by al-Nawawi in al-Majmoo’ (1/267). In an addition mentioned in al-Mu’jam al-Awsat by al-Tabaraan

Praise be to Allaah. Firstly: Al-Bukhaari narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There will be among my ummah people who will regard adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments as permissible.” This hadeeth indicates that all musical instruments are haraam, including the daff. ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The daff is haraam, stringed instruments are haraam, drums are haraam and flutes are haraam. Narrated by al-Bayhaqi, 10/222 But there are some ahaadeeth which indicate that it is permissible to beat the daff in some circumstances, which are: 1. Eid 2. Weddings 3. When one who has been away, returns. The evidence for the same is. It was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah that Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) entered upon her and there were two girls with her during the days of Mina beating the daff, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was cov

All praise be to Allah. Most of the times we see giveaway contests or rather internet competitions held by people on social media or personal websites, where the winner gets some prize if he/she wins with no cost to the participants. People who enter the competition will either gain something or at least will be safe and sound, and that no one will lose to anyone or anything? The ruling for this is that there is no wrong in taking part in such competitions wheather held on the internet or elsewhere if the participants or entrants do not lose anything and will be safe and sound after the competition then it is okay as it does not involve gambling. Gambling means something that the person does not know if he will win or lose and if he will gain or lose something. In gambling, there is a risk or losing something that is valuable to the entrant. In such competition often the participants are not at the loss even if they don't win it. It makes no difference to them.

Praise be to Allah.  For a muslim woman who post her picture on social media pages and groups is haraam for a number of reasons. Add to that the woman is not properly dressed or covered and the parts of her awra are visible in the photograph than that manifolds the sin and makes it, even more, worse and prohibition more emphatic. When a person likes something he is in a way approving of what he has liked. In simple words liking what is published on a persons social media account is kind of approving of what they do and at the very least the one who put up the picture will understand it as such, especially if the one who adds the like is a knowledgeable or religiously committed person or one who appears outwardly to be righteous and committed. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you sees an evil action, then let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, the

Are Physical Medicines Better or Ruqyah and Spiritual Medicine?

Praise be to Allaah. Both the methods, physical medication as well as spiritual medicine are important. The psychological diseases such as anxiety, grief, mental illness etc. have a greater impact on the body than the physical diseases. These diseases are better treated by the means of Ruqya and spiritual medicine. Whereas, the diseases that are physical, they are better treated by the physical medication. Narrated from Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him): “There is no believer who is stricken by anxiety, distress or grief, and he says, ‘Allaahumma inni ‘abduka ibnu ‘abdika ibnu amatika, naasiyati bi yadika, maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka, as’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw asta’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘indaka an taj’ala al-Qur’aan al-‘azeem rabee’a qalbi wa noora sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhahaaba hammi wa ghammi (O Allaah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, so

Praise be to Allaah. In islam, praying the janazzah (funeral) prayer is prescribed for both men and women, The prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) said: “Whoever attends the janaazah until he offers the prayer will have one qeeraat (of reward), and whoever attends until (the deceased) is buried will have two qeeraats.” It was said, “O Messenger of Allaah, what are the two qeeraats?” He said, “Like two great mountains,” meaning, of reward. (Saheeh – agreed upon). But the women are not permitted to follow the funeral procession to the graveyard as was reported in al-Saheehayn that Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “We were forbidden to follow the funeral procession but it was not made absolute on us.” (narrated by Muslim). They can pray the funeral prayer anywhere: in a house, prayer place or in the mosque. But not in the graveyard. Women used to offer the janaazah prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in his mosque a

It is not easy for Shaitaan to deceive people until he uses some tools and tricks which are very difficult to be realized as tools of Shaitaan and that's why he easily deceives mankind so what are those tools and tricks? BEAUTIFYING OF HARAM - This is the most useful way through which Shaitaan deceives the people. Shaitaan is constantly trying to show the wrong as truth, putting beautiful names on haram things, he makes Haram so beautiful in your eyes until he incites you to commit that Haram action as he himself says; ''My Lord, since you have lured me away, i will glamorize for them on earth and i will lure them all away'' iblees used the same tool to deceive Adam (alayhis-salam) eating from a tree that was forbidden to them (Adam & Eve), iblees made this action very beautiful and told them that if you eat from this tree you will be forever in paradise or you became engines so he made it so beautiful until they obeyed what Shaytan said and they were cast

Destroying Someone's Life - (A Message for Youth)

These relationships that you think are so awesome? This message is for you especially teenagers of our Ummah who kinda of shot an email and somebody emailed them back and a little Facebook thing happened you know? a little wink here and there in the playground even though it's a separate school but in reeses we saw each other, like a little bit of that happened, you know all of this is a product of low self-esteem, you think you're ugly so if a guy thinks you're cute, you're like: o really? i am beautiful? you have low self-esteem, you think nobody's gonna like you, nobody's gonna want to marry you and all that stuff. Now coming back to guys, we don't have good friendships and good relationships and we're looking for something always? and let me tell you just because you have raging hormones and you're like daydreaming about girls and things like that, it doesn't mean that you're in love? it just means that you haven't controlled y

QUESTION:- We are aware of hijab - covering of woman's face and hair. Some of my friends donot cover their hair and there is an argument that if they tie their hair rather than keep it open, the degree of the sin (gunah) is smaller? Also keeping long hair open is a greater sin than keeping short hair open. Is it true? Plese help and reply. Praise be to Allah. When Allah, may He be exalted, and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) enjoin something, it is obligatory for the Muslim to say, “We hear and we obey,” and to hasten to carry out what has been enjoined upon him. This is what is required by faith in Allah. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed into a plain error” [al-Ahzaab 33:36] Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahmaan al-Sa’di (may Allah have

Praise be to Allah. It is haraam for a girl to put a picture of herself on Facebook or in chat rooms or on other websites, for a number of reasons: 1. This is contrary to covering and concealment that is enjoined upon women in the Quran and Sunnah. Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says concerning the noblest of women and the furthest of them from suspicion, namely the wives of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): “And when you ask (his wives) for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen, that is purer for your hearts and for their hearts” [al-Ahzaab 33:53] “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e., screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful” [al-Ahzaab 33:59]  And He fo
