All praise be to Allah. Parenting is a great responsibility and parents are faced with day to day challenges to bring their children in a good environment and making them follow the Deen of Allah. Many parents face the issue of children falling into bad company and going astray. So the question arises as to how should parents advise their children who are getting away from Islam and bring them back. The only realistic way to do so is by providing them the best and good alternative; that they love. It has been rightly said that the alternative to bad company is good company. Make sure they have good friends and are schooled in a very good and Islamic school. Make sure your children are enrolled into activities that are beneficial to them, physically, mentally and even spiritually. The activities that they indulge into must be constructive and should affect your child positively. Firstly, you have to keep a regular check on your child’s activities. If you are going to ignore the

All praise be to Allah. Many people believe that there are certain months, days etc. in which marriage is not permissible. However, there is nothing in the authentic Islamic sources that prove any of such things. No tradition is available that prohibit engagement or marriage including Muharram, Safar or even Ramadhan (as long as the rules of fasting are not broken). "There is nothing in the sources of Islam to forbid Muslims from engaging in sexual intercourse with their spouses during the month of Muharram. However, we must know that no sexual intercourse is allowed while we are fasting, and it should be common knowledge that we are recommended to fast on the ninth as well as the tenth of Muharram. Believers must know that no one is allowed to declare things Haraam (forbidden) based on superstitions and cultures of people without clear evidence. Also, it is not permissible to declare anything in the context of Islam out of ones fancies and whims. There is nothing in Qu

All praise be to Allah. In this post we will try to help our brothers and sisters to get rid of Haram relationships for the sake of Allah and to lead the life of pious and righteous person. We ask Allah to help all the Muslim youth to abstain from unlawful and adhere to what is lawful. 1. End The Relation straight away. The reason is enough to end it. Tell them what you think and why. Make this your final decision and stand on it. Don’t look back no matter what. Thinking it would be a good idea that instead of hanging out as often they would just talk on the phone and meet for coffee every once in a while. It simply doesn’t work. Stopping coldly works and is the first step. In fact, it’s the only real step that you have to take. 2. Don’t keep them waiting. It is not something to make a deal of. Don’t keep them waiting. Move on. Allah is best of the planners and He knows what is good for you. Keeping other person in wait is not accepted. This will make you both m

All praise be to Allah. Adoption in pre-Islamic society: In the time before the Islam, the adopted son would be ascribed to his foster father. He would inherit from him, was allowed to be in seclusion with his wife and daughters and his foster father's wife would be haram for him in marriage. The forbidden son would have all the benefits as of begotten son in all affairs. The Prophet sallallahu alayhe was salaam adopted Zayd Ibn Haarith Ibn Sharaaheel al-Kilaby before the message of Islaam, and he used to be called Zayd Ibn Muhammad. This form of pre-Islamic adoption continued until the third or fifth year after the migration to Madeenah(Hijraah). Adoption after Islam came. Allah ordered to ascribe the adopted children to their real biological fathers if they are known. If, however, their parents are not known then they are considered as the brothers in the religion and as freed slaves to those who adopted them. Allah has forbidden to ascribe a child to his foster pa

All praise be to Allah. There are 3 purposes of sexual intimacy in Islam. 1. It is mandatory for the conservation of human race and continuity of its kind. It has this divine purpose to show gratitude to the creator. 2. The congested semen or body fluids inside the body can cause serious illnesses and hence has to be ejected out. 3. To fulfill ones desire of sexual pleasure and enjoyment of this blessing. Apart form these purposes, it is good for human health and yields essential health benefits. Semen is rich in prostaglandins, which are harmone like fatty acids. These are found in whole of the body but vastly in semen. These are primary nutrients that affect the essential and normal body processes which include blood presure, metabolism, body temperature etc. Hence understanding its effects on body, this important water must be wisely used. This means to wisely value the reasons behind dispensing of this precious water of life for either conceiving a child, or emitti

If one forgets some part of the quran after memorizig it, and then repents, would one have to revise the forgotten part for the repentance to be valid? If it has to be revised, then the surahs or rukoos learned properly can be easily revised, but how can one revise ayat learned from random locations, when one does not remember those locations? Would this revision have to be done immediately, or can one take one's time in doing it (i.e. doing it in spare time)? If one forgets some part of the quran after memorizig it, and then repents, would one have to revise the forgotten part for the repentance to be valid? Q. What is the Islamic ruling on the one who sells various kinds of tobacco? I smoke, and when I hear the adhaan, I go to the mosque. Do I have to repeat my wudoo’, or is it sufficient just to rinse my mouth? I know that smoking causes various diseases. Praise be to Allah. It is forbidden to sell tobacco because of its evil nature and its many harmful effects. The one who does that is considered to be a faasiq (evildoer). You do not have to repeat your wudoo’ after smoking, but you should remove the offensive odour from your mouth with something that will take it away. It is also obligatory to hasten to repent to Allah from that. From Fataawaa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 13/57

No One Can Love Like Allah Loves

A small phrase in the Quran that is so beautiful and so commonly overlooked, no doubt it is in fact Allah, He loves those who repent over and over and over again (Quran). Just a little bit of perspective, you know somebody could have done me really bad, like a really bad wrong, they've said things that really hurt my feelings and I can't get it out of my head, every time I see them I'm reminded of the thing that they said and it's going to take a while before that scar is healed and maybe once it gets healed, it's possible for me to befriend this person again or at least be civil with this person again. Maybe it's really hard for me to even sit in the same room with that person but now I got myself to be able to do that, I can actually communicate with this person or be in their presence again but to ask me to love them? it's really hard! okay fine, maybe in some crazy case I can get myself to forget everything and find love for them again, is it going

Q. What are the essential parts (arkaan, lit. “pillars”), obligatory (waajib) parts and sunnahs of wudoo’? Praise be to Allah Firstly: The essential parts (“pillars”) of wudoo’ are six: 1. Washing the face, of which the mouth and nose are part. 2. Washing the arms up to the elbows. 3. Wiping the head. 4. Washing the feet up to the ankles. 5. Washing these parts of the body in the proper order. 6. Doing these actions consecutively (that is, washing one after the other, with no lengthy lapse of time in between). Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): “O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Salat (the prayer), wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to ankles” [al-Maa’idah 5:6]. See: ar-Rawd al-Murbi‘ ma‘a Haashiyat Ibn Qaasim (1/181-188). Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: What is meant by the obligatory (fard) pa

Q. What is the ruling on listening to Soorat al-Mulk, which will save one from the punishment of the grave, before going to sleep, for one who does not know how to read Qur’an? Will the reward for that be equal to the reward of one who recites it? Praise be to Allah Concerning the virtue of Soorat al-Mulk, it was narrated by at-Tirmidhi (2891) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “There is a soorah of the Qur’an, thirty verses long, which will intercede for a man until he is forgiven. It is the soorah [which beings with the words] ‘Tabaarak alladhi bi yadihi’l-mulk… (Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion…).’” Classed as hasan by Shaykh al-Albaani (may Allah have mercy on him) in Saheeh Sunan at-Tirmidhi. At-Tirmidhi also narrated from Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would not go to sleep until he had recited “Alif, Laam, Meem. [This is] the revelation of the Book” [Soorat as-Saj

Q. In some chatrooms it is being said that the supplication (du‘aa’) of the pregnant woman is accepted. Is this correct or not? Praise be to Allah Firstly: Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): “And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’ Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible” [Ghaafir 40:60]. According to the hadith narrated by an-Nu‘maan ibn Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him), “Supplication is worship.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (1479); classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood. So it is befitting for the believer to offer a great deal of supplication at all times, and to seek out the times when supplication is answered, for then it is more likely to be answered. See the answer to question no. 22438. After researching the matter, we could not find any evidence to suggest that the supplication of the pregnant woman is answered; rather she is like any other woman, unle

At 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. depending on the seasons, Fajr Salah has arrived and is on its way too soon expiring, within a hundred minutes, an hour and a half and in that hour, a small blessed group of Muslims pull themselves out of bed and they wash up, head out to the Masjid perhaps remembering Allah (Azza WA JAL), making tasbeeh, perhaps using the siwaak from the Prophetic example until they arrive at these homes that Allah erected, the houses of Allah. Houses He permitted that they be erected for the mention of His name and they say and they mean, Allah is bigger than everything in my life (Allah Hu Akbar) whereas the massive majority of the Ummah in that hour is asleep in their beds and if there is in a home a mother or a father or both that pray, most likely the older children at the same time are still sleeping in their beds. Fajr time has now expired and the Fajr is over and now it's time for school or work all of a sudden, the house bursts with life, bursts with activity, th

Here are Few Signs From Allah that Show You Have Been Forgiven.

Yes indeed this is a very common question asked by Muslims and probably more often in Ramadan and that is ''How do I know I have been pardoned and forgiven by the Almighty'' At the onset I would say that is a reflection of Iman in the heart of an individual. The Messenger (saw) has said: ''When your good deeds make you happy and make you pleased and your bad actions make you sad and hurt you, then that is a sign of a believer'' so the fact that a person has a concern, a passion to know if he or she has been forgiven, that itself is a positive sign now moving forward in terms of answering this academically so in the Quran and Sunnah we come across two terms and phrases, we have Istighfar and we have Toubah, people assume this to be a Mutaradhif, a synonym but in reality if we dissect it we will appreciate there is a difference between the two, 12 Juz in Surah Hud, the advice of Sayidina Hud (as) to his people: ''seek repentance to your lord

All praise be to Allah. How often we grive over our loss and instead of being grateful for whatever we still have, we lose the sense of gratitude and start complaining. Complains will only cause us harm. It will make us ungrateful and thus sinful. Whereas our gratitude to Allah will only increase us in our blessings and hence Iman. Its not easy to be thankful when one has suffered a terrible loss. Its easy to say than done. This is the test of faith that Allah puts his slave into. Imagine losing more than what is lost! Imagine how Allah still have blessed you despite the hardship? See how you still are living and have been given more chance to seek repentance? How many of those who are under the soil would wish to be given just one more day to ask Allah of his forgiveness? How many of them would want to do everything according to Islam? How many would want to be Muslims? Always remember Allah takes to give better! Maybe not in this world but surely in hereafter. There is n

The Fabricated Hadith About Prophetic Medicine.

All praise be to Allah. Some hadith are doing rounds on the internet regarding the benefits of certain foods. It is said: 1. The Prophet(peace be upon him) said: “pomegranates cleans you of Satan and evil aspirations for 40 days.” It must be noted that the said hadith is fabricated and we could not find any reference to the said hadith. We have not come across it in any books. However, something similar was mentioned in the following wording: “You should eat pomegranate with its pulp because it coats the stomach and there is no single seed of pomegranate that enters a person's stomach except that it enlightens his heart and repels the whispering of the devil for 40 days." It is mentioned in the book titled Al-Kamil and was narrated by Ibn ‘Adiyy. It was classed as daaef and fabricated hadith. 2. The Prophet (peace be upon him said):: "None of your women who are pregnant and eat of watermelon will fail to produce off spring that is good in countenance and go
