WHY IS HOMOSEXUALITY FORBIDDEN WHEN ALLAH MADE ME THAT WAY?

All praise be to Allah. Most of our youth raise a question as to why be a death penalty the punishment for homosexuality and why is it even forbidden if Allah made a person that way. If a person is born in a way than why is he condemned? Al-Junayd in ‘Hilyat al-Awliya said: “ A person is not to be blamed for his nature. Rather he is to be blamed if he acts according to his nature” We need to understand that no one is condemned to hell because of their nature or simply because of what they desire and what thoughts cross their mind. A person is doomed to hell if he/she acts according to his desires i.e. if he engages in sinful activities. A thought and an action are two different things. Men and women are attracted to opposite gender but that doesn’t take them to hell, what becomes haram is the way they act after the infatuation has occurred. AN infatuation or liking someone doesn’t give anyone reason to commit the more grievous sins. You don’t have the right to lust after t

5 Ways to Overcome the Fear of Disappointment

All praise be to Allah. All of the human beings face disappointments in life that may lead one to depression and stress. We know life is not perfect, it is not ideal, we are meant to be tested. People will hurt us, things may not work the way we want them to work, relationships may break. Often times a disappointment in life may cause one's aversion to Islam. The question is how to rise from a set back in life? How to survive the depression? How do we forgive and forget? How do we try again? How not to fall into disbelief? Nobody ever said that it is easy. In face Allah told us in glorious Quran: “Verily We have created the human being into toil and struggle” [Surah Al-Balad;4] We hope, we dream, we strive, we build and yes indeed we can fail, fall, and feel hurt, betrayal, and just simply experience a lack of empathy and compassion for others. However, we can get back up, try again, hope again, dream again, strive again and build again. We can succeed again. We ca

Did Prophet Sulaiman (as) Force Queen of Sheeba to Accept Islam.

Praise be to Allah. Allah says in Glorious Quran: “She said: ‘My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, and I submit (in Islam, together with Sulaymaan (Solomon), to Allah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists)” [an-Naml 27:44]. From this verse we understand that prophet Sulaiman (AS) did not force Queen of Sheeba (Bilquees) to become Muslim, rather she accepted it out of her belief in the Islam. She stated that she was the one who was wrong and had wronged herself by worshipping to the idols and submitted to the religion of Allah with Sulaiman (AS). If she had been forced to become Muslim, she would not have said that. With regard to the words of the Prophet of Allah Sulaymaan (peace be upon him), “Go back to them. We verily shall come to them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from there in disgrace, and they will be abased” [an-Naml 27:37] This comes under the heading of Jihad which is necessary to spread Islam. It do

LATEST KING SAUD UNIVERSITY (KSU) RESEARCH REVEALS BENEFITS OF AJWA DATES

Praise be to Allah. New research from King Saud University into the health benefits of the famous Ajwa dates from Medina shows the fruit has anti-inflammatory properties similar to commercially available drugs like ibuprofen and aspirin. The research, published in the 61st issue of the US-based Journal for Agriculture and Food Chemistry, also shows that Ajwa dates contain active elements useful in the prevention of diseases like cancer. Professor Muraleedharan Nair, head of the Natural Materials Laboratory at the University of Michigan, conducted the research in collaboration with KSU’s Date Palm Research Chair while a visiting professor at the Chair, with a number of researchers from both universities also participating in the study. The dark brown, almost black, Ajwa date hails from the Al-Madinah al-Munawarah region in Saudi Arabia’s west, and are known for their softness, dryness, and high price on the Kingdom’s date market. The Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) also

How Should Muslims Celebrate New Year

My brothers and sisters were a few moments away from new years eve so one might ask what does New years eve mean to Muslims? in truth, it actually means nothing. It has no weight whatsoever in Islam in any way, shape or form. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) He gave us our days of celebration, He gave us (Eid Al Fitr) which is the day after the blessed month of Ramadan, He gave us (Eid Al Adha) which is just after Hajj and we also have every single Friday the day of the (Jummah), the day of the (Khutbah) and this is also a (Eid) celebration for the believer. My brothers and sisters, how do we deal with this Year's Eve, in short stay away from it. There is no celebration whatsoever, do not go to places where this night is being celebrated stay away from gatherings that are displeasing to Allah. Where there is mixing, alcohol anything of this nature stay away from this. My brothers and sisters if this night was to have any weight whatsoever then what I

CELEBRATING NEW YEAR'S EVE IS HARAAM

and since tonight is the night of New Year's Eve and it's a good opportunity for us to sit down tonight and talk about what's the Islamic perspective on the New Year Eve because a lot of Muslims mix, a lot of Muslims mix up and a lot of Muslims have misconception of understanding the new year eve  and the celebration of New Year's Eve, a lot of Muslims growing up in the West think that's part of Islam and that don't even realize that and maybe we were one of them when we young, when we did not have the Islamic education awareness or maybe our parents did not make us aware enough that these things are not permissible in Islam or maybe even themselves didn't even know and this is the unfortunate thing that many people don't know. Many people think that Islam is just Uhh! you know it's part of Islam. we have a Eid Al Adha, we have a Eid Ul Fitr, we have New Year's Eve and we have also Christmas so what does Islam tell us about those: ''

A Powerful Dua.

All praise be to Allah. The Dua is our tool to get connected to our Lord. The Messenger of Allah has taught us many supplications and indeed the meaning of his duas are many( and of-course meaningful), we find that most of those Supplications are relevant to our tiring and tough times. One such Dua is : “Allahumma innee a’udhu bika min Jaaris Suu, wa min zawjin tushayyibunee qablal masheeb, wa min waladin yakoonu alaiyya rabban, wa min maalin yakoonu alaiyya ‘adhaaban, wa min khaleelin maakirin, ‘ainuhu taraanee, wa qalbuhu yar’aanee, in yaraa hasanatan dafanahaa, wa in yaraa sayyi’a’tan adhaa’ahaa“ Abu Hurairah – Radhiyallahu anhu said: From his (The Messenger of Allah – Sallallahu alaihi wa Salam) supplications was: “Oh Allah! I seek refuge in you from an evil neighbor; and from a wife that causes me to grow old before old age; and from a son who will become a master over me; and from wealth that becomes a punishment for me and from a cunning friend whose gaze

RULING ON MUSLIMS CONGRATULATING ONE ANOTHER ON THE OCCASION OF THE GREGORIAN NEW YEAR

Question: Is it permissible for Muslims to congratulate each other and give Dua on the new year based on the Gregorian calendar without the intention of celebrating it ? Praise be to Allah. It is not permissible for the Muslims to exchange greetings on the occasion of the Gregorian New Year, and it is not permissible for them to celebrate it, because both of these matters involve imitation of the kuffaar, and we have been forbidden to do that. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4031; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood Moreover, offering greetings on this day that comes back each year comes under the heading of celebrating it and taking it as a festival, which is also forbidden. And Allah knows best.

Ruling on Shortening the Sides of the Hair More Than the Middle

All priase be to allah. The latest trend that is seen in today's youth is that they shorten the sides of the hair more than the middle. The shortening of hair from the sides and keeping it in middle comes under the heading of qaza. And qaza is forbidden. Al-bukhaari (5921) and muslim (2120) narrated from ibn ‘umar that the messenger of allaah (blessings and peace of allaah be upon him) forbade qaza’. Naafi’ (one of the narrators of the hadeeth) said, explaining qaza’: shaving part of a boy’s head and leaving part. Al-nasaa’i (5048) and abu dawood (4195) narrated from ibn ‘umar that the prophet (blessings and peace of allaah be upon him) saw a boy part of whose head had been shaved and part of it left. He told them not to do that and said: “shave all of it or leave all of it.” Al-albaani classed it as saheeh in saheeh al-nasaa’i. that includes cutting some of the hair short and leaving some. What is the ruling on leaving some of the hair longer than the rest? Answer

What is the Ruling for Someone Who Has Thoughts of Disbelief Without Saying Them Aloud?

All praise be to Allah. A Muslim is one who believes in everything that Allah has revealed through his book and his Messenger(Peace be upon him) There is no question of doubt in it. Whoever has doubts about Allah, the angels, the messengers, the resurrection, Paradise, Hell, or anything that has reached him of what Allah said (in the Qur’an) or that was conveyed by His Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is a disbeliever. Allah, may He be exalted, says: “And he entered his garden while he was unjust to himself. He said, ‘I do not think that this will perish – ever. And I do not think the Hour will occur. And even if I should be brought back to my Lord, I will surely find better than this as a return.’ His companion said to him while he was conversing with him, "Have you disbelieved in He who created you from dust and then from a sperm-drop and then proportioned you [as] a man’” [al-Kahf 18:35-37]. This verse is from the Surah Al-kahf where the exam

IT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE TO PROSTRATE TO ANYONE OTHER THAN ALLAH

All praise be to Allah. Respect must not be venerated to such extent that one acts in such a way that is not permissible to a believer and that may lead one to kufr. The companions of Prophet( peace be upon him) honored and respected him to a great extent, they followed him in everything, his sunnah and whatever he said but that never made them prostrate before him. In the early days of Islam, when some of them saw that the People of the Book prostrated to their bishops and patriarchs, they thought that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was more deserving of that, out of respect for him and veneration of him. But the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade them to prostrate to him. Ibn Maajah (1853) and al-Bayhaqi (14711) narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa said: When Mu‘aadh ibn Jabal came from Syria, he prostrated to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said, “What is this, O Mu‘aadh?” He said, I went to Syria a

TRUE STATUS OF WOMEN IN ISLAM

My dear sister you think you have gotten a raw deal because culturally your husband oppresses you, culturally he abuses you, culturally you got cultural baggages! so you think the Muslims are doing you a wrong deed but I have news for you my dear sister. Allah has allowed you to keep your own name, you know you get married and now you're mrs. so-and-so but to Allah you are the daughter of so-and-so you've got your own name. Allah through his Shariah has seen to it that you have your own wealth. You'll have your own wealth. Allah has seen to it that you get your own portion of inheritance and you keep it too. Allah sees to it you that no matter what you own your husband has to provide for you. This is Allah's Shariah. Allah has made you not an object of desire or objectification as they have done in the West but Allah has made you a pillar and a builder of the society that you are a part of and what did you do? what are you doing? let's look at some of these pil

COMPLETE VS. ACCEPTABLE GHUSL

All praise be to Allah. Ghusl is of two types: acceptable and complete. Acceptable Ghusl: In acceptable Ghusul, it is sufficient to do only obligatory parts, without doing any of the sunnah/mustahabb actions. A person must intend to purify himself and make water reach every partof his body using any means like standing under shower, immersing oneself in a sea or pool. It includes rinsing mouth and nose as well. It must be done when one doesnt have enough time to do a complete Ghusl and the time for prayer is near. Complete Ghusl: Complete Ghusul means the way of Ghusl, in the manner Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) has taught us. Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen was asked about how ghusl is done. He replied: Ghusl may be done in two ways: 1 – By doing the obligatory parts of ghusl only, which is making water reach all parts of the body, and includes rinsing the mouth and nose. If a person makes the water reach all parts of his body, by whatever means, then he

JESUS(AS) WAS NOT CRUCIFIED, IT WAS MADE TO APPEAR SO!

Q. The Bible says… ‘When Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of the fish, so shall the son of man, be for 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.’ Did Jesus peace be upon him, scientifically fulfill the sign of Jonah. (Dr. Zakir): What the sister is referring to, is the verse of the Bible, Gospel of Mathew, Chapter No 12, Verse No. 38 and 40, ‘when people asked Jesus Christ (peace be upon him)… ‘Show me a sign, show me a miracle’. Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), says… ‘You evil and adulteration’s generation, seeketh after a sign, no sign shall be given to you, but the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of the whale, so shall the son of man be 3 days and 3 nights, in the heart of the earth’ – Sign of Jonah. Jesus Christ peace be upon him, puts all his eggs in one basket. And if you go to the sign of Jonah… the book of Jonah is less than 2 pages, and most of us know. And if you analyze, that Jonah was 3 days

Ruling on Car Insurance

What is the ruling on insuring a car? In case of an accident, the insurance company pays all repair fees instead of the other side. All praise be to Allah. Car insurance is not permissible as it comes under the heading of commercial insurance. Also, it insures one against accidents involving others. The sharia has forbidden it because it is based on uncertainty and consuming peoples wealth unlawfully. The majority of fiqh councils and fatwa organizations forbid it. If one is not obligated to purchase it than it is better to avoid it but if one has no choice than it is permissible to take out car insurance, and the sin is on those who forced others to do it, based on the principle of “necessities which make forbidden things permissible”. The person who is forced to take out car insurance should not take more than he paid, if the company compensates him for harm suffered, based on the principle of “necessity should be properly estimated (without exaggeration)”. THE MUSLIMS ARE CLOSER TO MARYAM (AS) THAN THE CHRISTIANS

All praise be to Allah Maryam, the daughter of Imran (AS) is one of the best women to walk on this earth. She was a devote worshipper and a righteous woman. She is mentioned in the book of Allah and is also in the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She has been described as the one possessed of most beautiful characteristics of the people of faith. She also has nothing to do with what people associate with her just as her son Esa (Jesus-Peace be upon him) has nothing to do with them either, and he will declare that disavowal before all witnesses on the Day of Resurrection. The closeness of the Muslims to her is apparent from the following: Allah, may He be exalted, says: “And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): ‘O ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?’ He will say: ‘Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say)’” [al-Maa’idah 5:116] The

IS MARYAM, THE MOTHER OF THE MESSIAH (PEACE BE UPON HIM) A “SAINT”?

All praise be to Allah. The word saint (qiddees) means pure or holy. One of the names of Allah is al-Quddoos( the holiest), and refers to the one who is free of any faults, defects and is pure. In Quran and Sunnah, Maryam is not described as qiddeesah. Rather it is a title given to her by Christians, by way of exaggerated venerations to such an extent that they consider her as equal to God. Exalted is HE above all that they say. Allah says in his glorified book: “And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): ‘O ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?’ He will say: ‘Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say)’” [al-Maa’idah 5:116]. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: … The Oriental Orthodox Christians wrote a document in which they affirmed their beliefs, in which they said: ‘Verily the saint (or holy) Virgin Mary gave birth t

RULING ON HAVING A CHRISTMAS TREE WITHOUT CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS

All praise be to Allah. Many of our brothers and sisters are taken away by the decorations, rituals of other religious festivals so much so that they too want to either participate in it or want to do something like that. Talking about Christmas, we find nearly every street and building decorated by lights and other things. Every other place has a decorated pine tree called as a Christmas tree. It is the symbol of Christian festival and its celebration. A Christmas is incomplete without a Christmas tree. It is said that it was first officially used as a symbol in this manner in the sixteenth century in Germany, in the Cathedral of Strasbourg in 1539 CE. As a Muslim we must understand that it is impermissible to imitate the Kufaar in any act of their worship. Their rituals and symbols must not be followed. Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4031; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al

WHY DON’T MUSLIMS CELEBRATE THE BIRTHDAY OF PROPHET JESUS (PEACE BE UPON HIM)

All praise be to Allah. The Christmas is a Christian celebration and is innovated by polytheists. It is not permissible for a Muslim to celebrate it or greet it to anyone as it is an imitation of Kufaar. Moreover, Esa (AS) has nothing to do with it or them. Apart from being an innovation, it comes under the heading of imitating disbelievers in their religion. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (3512); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood. Its isnaad was classed as jayyid by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, who said: The least that can be said about this hadith is that it implies that it is prohibited to imitate them. However the apparent meaning indicates that the one who imitates them is a disbeliever, as Allah, may He be exalted, says: “And if any amongst you takes them as Awliya’ ((friends, protectors, helpers, etc.)), then surely he is one of them” [al-Maa’id

IMPORTANT WARNING FOR ALL MUSLIMS AROUND THE WORLD ABOUT CHRISTMAS

This is a very important warning for all my muslim brothers and sisters. We must avoid saying "Merry Christmas" to anyone as this means that we are knowingly or unknowingly, directly or indirectly bearing witness that Allah begot his son Jesus (peace be upon him) on 25th of December (Nauzubillah) Allah says strong words against it "Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous! At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin, That they should invoke a son for (God) Most Gracious. For it is not consonant with the majesty of (God) Most Gracious that He should beget a son." Surah Mary Ch.19 V.88-92 If we still engage in this "Merry Christmas" it can make us fall into Kufr or Shirk. Our duty is just to inform people about this big sin and remember giving Hidayah (guidance) is in Allah's hands. Please avoid it and save yourself from doing this very big sin.
